Industrial Road, Iditarod Trail

The proposed West Susitna Industrial Access Road will result in irreversible harm to the scenic and cultural natural of a 100-mile section of our Iditarod National Historic Trail. For a high price, Alaskans are left with a nightmare for our cultural history and the business the Iditarod brings to the region year after year. Take action for the Iditarod Trail.

What’s at stake:

In the first 150 miles of the active Iditarod route, about 48 miles run roughly parallel to the proposed West Su Industrial Access Road and lie within 2 miles of it. Roughly 35 of those miles are within 1 mile or less of the road corridor.

The West Su Industrial Road would pave the way for Canadian mining trucks to cross the trail.
