“My background in the West Susitna region started back in the eighties, when I used to fly out here charter to fish for kings at Alexander Creek. It was a gorgeous fishery at the time. Plentiful kings. Lots of memories and fun coming from those days. Then fast forward — I think this is our 18th year to own our place here. My wife and I were dreaming about having how much fun it would be to have a remote property close to town that we could fly to and from, to enjoy the remote experiences of Alaska close to Anchorage.

We bought this place as quickly as we could and we've owned it and loved it since.”

“What you see here is just wonderful. I can get up in the morning and watch Mount Susitna come to life right from our living room. We enjoy seeing moose and bear in our yard and a porcupine comes lumbering through every so often. And there are always birds. Robins are nesting in our backyard and there's usually a flock of ravens that raise their babies here.

This is a special place. It deserves special care. It's been here a long time and should not be destroyed.”

“I'm an architect. I am pro-business development. Responsible development that's environmentally sensitive and correct, that will enhance our economy and make Alaska better.

There are many other projects in Alaska that are active currently that need money that could use the money that's being earmarked for this project to our state's benefit. That's where our development money should go.

The West Susitna Industrial Access Road would be a lot of Alaska money spent to benefit an Outside state corporate entity. Residents of Alaska would probably not see the benefit of that spend. And there are many other projects that could use that money beneficially for all of us. That's where it should be spent.”
